Visiting

If you are concerned about a relative or friend or wish to talk to them at any time please call the home to speak to one of our nursing staff.

Our manager and staff have the job of keeping everyone safe and helping everyone have a good experience of visiting. We need your support to do this.

When you visit you are not just coming into your loved one’s home, you are also in the home of many other residents. So please follow any advice and instructions that the staff give you to keep everyone safe and comfortable.

We may have to refuse to allow someone to continue their visit if they refuse to follow advice or instructions (such as wearing PPE correctly). Nobody would want that to happen, but we need to keep everybody in the home safe and comfortable.

When you are in and around the home, please be careful to observe the personal space of our residents.

You can still visit if you have not been vaccinated against infectious diseases, or if the person you are going to visit has not been vaccinated. But we strongly recommend you have vaccines when offered to you to help make visiting as safe as possible.

Please make sure you wear whatever PPE you are asked to correctly, and keep it on.

Visiting guidance

Residents will have no restriction on the number of visitors they can see at one time, within reason, and providing this does not cause disturbance to other residents within the home.

Please inform the office if you intend to visit to allow us to let the person you are visiting know to expect you and to keep track of people planning to come into the home and enable us to inform you if we need to change the dates or times of visits due to appointments of the people you are visiting or infection outbreaks.

Visits will be taken in the conservatory or the residents room or weather permitting outside in the gardens, however at this time we are not allowing visits to communal areas of the home.

In particularly it is important that you:

  • Get vaccines when offered to you. Vaccinations are one of our best defences in combatting infections.
  • Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water, for at least 20 seconds, or use the hand sanitiser provided when you arrive at the care home.
  • Co-operate and communicate with us. Care homes are best placed to undertake risk assessments for their residents, and every decision we make is to keep your loved ones and our staff safe. We encourage you to work with us to understand the risks to residents from indoor visits and when taking your loved ones out into the community.
  • Do not visit the home if you have any symptoms of any contagious illness. Please be aware that Flu and stomach bugs can be particularly dangerous for the people that live in our home. If you have any symptoms of Flu or Covid do not visit the home. If you have had vomiting or diarrhoea please leave at least 48 hours after the last symptoms before visiting.
