We currently have a registered nurse vacancy for 12.25 hours per week.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Registered Nurse with current NMC PIN (No restrictions to practice)

DAY TO DAY DUTIES 

  1. Receive handover and feedback from the previous Nurse in charge. 
  2. Check the calendar for day’s events 
  3. Allocate duties to the care staff for the shift or to the senior HCA to relay. 
  4. Undertake drug rounds, accurately maintain stock and report any issues to management team.
  5. Monitor residents’ personal care requirements and the presentation of residents.
  6. Monitor health requirements and refer to other healthcare professionals when necessary 
  7. Ensure that the telephone is answered in a timely manner 
  8. Supervise serving of meals and monitor dietary and hydration requirements 
  9. Promote the provision of activities during quieter times in the home an
  10. Monitor “unacceptable practices” 
  11. Monitor cleaning standards and odour control 
  12. Monitor monthly observation recording 
  13. Conduct regular reviews of care plans on E-Plan completing risk, and other assessments where necessary.
  14. Ensure that all care and actions you carry out are reported on E-Plan 
  15. Ensure that all communications which visiting professionals and phonec alls are documented in the communication section of eplan.
  16. Use the Handover sheet to prompt handover to the next shift nurse in charge. 
  17. Raise safeguarding alerts to the Registered Manager/Acting Manager 

If required: 

  1. Show prospective residents and families around the home (Via appointment)
  2. Liaise with other healthcare professionals via meetings either in person, telephone or online to carry out reviews and assessments of residents.
  3. Organise reception of new residents 
  4. Contact residents family with regards to changes in their condition or any accidents or incidents which may occur whilst on shift.
  5. Liaise with other registered nurses regarding the residents, medications or issues which may be necessary to pass on.
