Facilities at St Anselm’s Nursing Home

St. Anselm’s has been a family run nursing home since being converted from a hotel in 1987. We specialise in providing 24 hour care to people over the age of 50  and we are registered with the Care Quality Commission to accommodate up to 26 people. Our rooms are situated over 4 floors which are accessible with a lift.

We have a main lounge area with comfortable seating and a large television which is used by the majority of our residents throughout the day to socialise and for the various weekly activities that we have. We also have a smaller quiet area to sit and contemplate away from distractions, for those needing it. There is also a conservatory which opens out into our main, secured garden, for those residents who wish to sit outside or join in outside activities.

Our dining room is adjacent to our kitchen and this also opens out to an outdoor eating area, for those wishing to dine alfresco. Residents can choose to take their meals when and where they wish. Snacks and drinks are served throughout the day and night, in addition to the main meals. Our menu now includes ‘meat free Mondays’. with a variety of tasty meat free dishes to help towards reducing our carbon footprint.

We have car parking facilities onsite and a wheelchair accessible car which can be used to take people out on shopping trips and days out, or to any medical appointments they may need to attend.

We have a home cat, Ginger who lives within the main home. Well behaved pets are also welcome to come into the home to visit.

We have a dedicated team of house-keeping staff who offer a daily cleaning service for all residents. We also offer a laundry service and all clothes are delivered back to your room washed and ironed and labelled where necessary.

We also have an Aromatherapist who visits us once a fortnight and exercise therapist who visits the home weekly. With regular events and activities provided in the home throughout the week.

We have a car which can transport wheelchairs and are able to offer outings to residents, whether this be shopping trips, or trips to local centres for activities. We have many residents who enjoy going out to our beautiful seafront during the summer months to enjoy, food, drink and ice creams. We also have several residents who enjoy attending church on a regular basis.
